Penrose – Upper East Side
The first time we tried to eat at Penrose it was packed. The waiting list was about 30 to 40 minutes. So we tried again but this time on a Wednesday and there was no wait. There’s only one burger on the menu, “Penrose Burger”, but don’t fret you have the options of adding different toppings. Not that you need to because this burger was rich in flavor. The patty is made of a house blend which is served on a country bun with lettuce, tomato, onions & pickles. With caramelized onions, smoked gouda, bacon, etc you can make the same burger different each time. Agnes added caramelized onions and I went with smoked gouda. We ended up splitting the caramelized onions (I love caramelized onions…caramelized anything really). Great place to unwind after work. We recommend going earlier in the week to avoid the wait.

Flavor: 4 out of 5 Cost: $$
