Juliette – Williamsburg

O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Juliette?

She’s in Williamsburg, that’s where. Enjoying a delicious brunch at Juliette.  Juliette gives you Parisian cuisine in the heart of Williamsburg.  Know for it’s greenery decor, clean and delicious eats with minimal ingredients.  This is a great date night spot or maybe you just want to remember a little bit of Paris.  Of course, we came for the burgers!

The Juliette’s burger is a wonderfully flavored burger on toasted brioche with your choice of cheese, plus or minus apple-wood smoked bacon.  We went with gorgonzola cheese, no bacon…we’ve gotta have limits…well sometimes.  Also on the menu is the juicy, rich Pino’s spicy lamb burger on English muffin topped with goat cheese.  This place is a must!

Salvation Burger – Midtown East

We waited a long time to check out this next spot, Salvation Burger!  With its fire mishap last year, it is finally reopen to the public.  We decided to splurge and get both burgers on the menu, Salvation and the Classic.  What is the salvation and classic you ask?  The Classic, is a burger made of two patties, homemade cheese, pickles, and special sauce.  The Salvation burger, is made of a juicy patty, smoked bacon, and double beer cheese.  These burgers looked amazing!

However, we were sadly disappointed.  The Salvation burger left a weird aftertaste with every bite and the classic burger all though loaded with cheese was bland.  Maybe the cook was having an off day, because we heard so many good things.  Great decor and ambiance.  Waiters were very nice, but don’t believe the hype.

But boy do they look amazing.

Harlem Shake -East Harlem

We stepped into Harlem for this next burger adventure.  Harlem Shake gives you the classic old school diner feel with a taste of Harlem.  New location on 2nd Ave and 111th St.  We tried the Hot Mess and Frita Cubana burger.  I don’t know about you but sometimes all you want is a juicy, mess burger, and Harlem Shake delivered.  Full of umami we paired our burgers with truffle fries.  I know what you’re thinking “truffle fries from a diner?”  Turned out to be one of the best truffle fries we’ve tasted.  Of course, we couldn’t leave without having a milk shake…hey when in Rome…

A little pricey for a diner and location, but great place and tasty burgers.

NY Burger Week 2017

Burger Month is coming to an end.  So why not relive two great events of Burger week that took place May 1-7.  We had a great time enjoying the activities.

Wednesday May 3 was Whitman’s Juicy Lucy Beer and Whiskey Pairing. This event was anything short from perfect. The participates were able to taste three different Juicy Lucy paired with a beer and shot of whiskey.  Simply delicious!

Of course the week would not have been complete without a Boozy Burger Brunch on May 7th.  Gebhard’s Beer Culture hosted and served up three off the menu mouth-watering mini burgers.  Each burger was paired with three beers. Great event, the maple, egg and cheese burger needs to become a regular on the menu.

Ethyl’s Alcohol & Food – Upper East Side

Did someone say five dollar burgers?  That’s right, this 1970’s theme upper east side joint offers burgers for five bucks! Ethyl’s Alcohol & Food will surprise you.  We sat down and enjoyed their “Home of the Fi-Dolla Burger”.  Deliciously juicy beef patty topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. You can add flare to your burger with additional add-ons like caramelized onions, fried eggs, bacon, etc.  With a great staff, cool vibe, and live music you can kick back and pair your burger with a specialty cocktail or an ice cold beer.

Hudson Malone – Midtown East

If your in Midtown and cravings a burger check out Hudson Malone. With their “Hudson Malone” and “Double Au Poivre Bash” burgers you’ll be glad you did.  The Double Au Poivre is a delicious blend topped with bacon, cheese, and caramelized onions.  Don’t let The Hudson Malone simplicity fool you, it packs a mighty bite.  Both burgers are well seasoned, tender and mouth-watering.  Great atmosphere and awesome staff.  Thank you Hudson Malone for an amazing meal and down to earth hospitality. Another trendy after work spot.

Treadwell Park – Upper East Side

Fun, energetic, and great food.  Treadwell Park was our next spot.  We sat and enjoyed the TWP and Merchant’s Signature burger.   All we could say between bites was “yummmyyy”.   The Merchant’s Signature burger is made of Pat La Frieda’s brisket blend, provolone, Nueske’s bacon, and BBQ sauce.  The TWP burger is a Pat La Frieda’s brisket blend topped with lettuce, tomato, pickles and their not-secret sauce.  There’s plenty to do while you wait for your meal.  Have a sip of one of their amazing beers, pregame with some free popcorn, or even play some ping pong. Treadwell can get pretty packed for happy hour, but it’s a great place to unwind and indulge in a juicy burger.

Snax Spot – Hell’s Kitchen

We love using Groupon for deals on meals, but once in awhile you get a groupon that is not updated.  We were set to check out Hell’s Kitchen for our next burger place with groupon in hand.  When we got to the location, only to find it was shut down.  Luckily we stumbled upon Snax Spot and it was a delightful surprise.

This hidden gem is small and cozy.  With friendly customer service.  We sat down and tried the Lincoln Tunnel burger and Burger Authority.  The Lincoln Tunnel is packed with melted Swiss cheese, crispy onion, romaine heart, fire roasted pepper, and Carolina sauce. Still dreaming of that crispy onion.  Sautéed mushroom, romaine, tomato, chipotle mayo, pepper jack cheese, and caramelized onion make up the Burger Authority.  Flavor-fully filling, juicy, and delicious to the last bite.  This is a must try.

Randolph- Williamsburg

If you’re looking for a place to brunch. Randolph in Williamsburg is a must.  Great atmosphere, with funky décor, and amazing down to earth serves.  With the before 5pm menu your party can enjoy bottomless pitchers of mimosa, bloody Mary, or the house punch.  We ordered the burger with extra sharp cheddar cheese, aioli, and waffle fries.  The medium-well came out dryer than excepted, but still bursting with flavor.  Don’t let the simplicity of the burger fool you.  Delicious and satisfying to the last bite.

Rare Bar & Grill- Chelsea

Rare Bar and Grill was our next hot spot. First up from the menu we tried the Original “LOUIS LUNCH” burger.  This delicious burger is a secret house blend beef topped with a grilled onion, on white toast with sharp cheddar.  Followed by the T-BONE burger, a filet and strip blend, flambéed in tequila, wrapped in apple bacon, topped with cheddar and crispy onions.  Both burgers were mouth-watering and packed with amazing flavor.  Of course we had to have the French fry basket with different assortment of sauces on the side.

Loved everything about Rare Bar and Grill.  With friendly customer service, great ambiance and finger-licking burgers.  Both locations having great rooftop views, so you can enjoy your burger while admiring the city lights. This is a must on your burger list.
